At what moment did you feel like you had to „grow up“ and be an adult?

I grew up in an immigrant family. Both of my parents didn’t speak the country’s language so at the age of 8 I had to take the duty of translating all the mail, filling the documents and doing other things required to be done in a “governmental” language. At the time I felt cool, like a grown-up. Only now do I realise how big of a responsibility I had to take as a child.
