What reminds you of your hometown?
Windmills, I live/grew up in Nootdorp. A boring town between The Hague and Rotterdam. Within though was this large old windmill, functioning as an incredibly delicious restaurant. I’d give this place a Michelin star if it was up to me. It bought its products from local farmers, so it was always fresh and tasty.

During my time in high school my dad would often work late, and I’d be studying for tests. Often when he got home from work he didn’t want to cook, so we drove down to the windmill. I remember so vividly going to there and having dinner there while studying for my final German exam of the year, stressed out of my mind. Our server giving me grammar tips.
